All Aboard Schools SAFETY IS OUR TOP
PRIORITY

All Aboard for a safe ride

Safety of our passengers and employees is our top priority at All Aboard School Transportation. We will never ask employees to perform a task if it cannot be completed safely. Pre-service training, continuing service training, ride checks and maintaining a strong safety culture is simply the way things are done within our company.

All Aboard School Services has consistently received the top safety rating from the Department of Transportation.

Our Drivers’ Commitment

We provide extensive safety training for drivers and employees, and perform ride checks and audits to ensure each location continues to meet our high driver hiring standards. Most importantly, we create a safety atmosphere at each location where we ask for and implement employee ideas to make all aspects of our operation safer. Finally, our management team is expected to be visible when drivers are in the lot preparing to leave or return from their routes for “CHECK AND HELP.” We ask that they check to make sure drivers are performing pre-trips properly, verify credentials, help the drivers as needed and provide positive acknowledgement while in the yard.

MAINTAINED FOR SAFETY

At All Aboard School Transportation there is nothing more important than the safety of the students we transport. We strongly believe in a preventive maintenance system. We utilize software dedicated to bus maintenance in order to electronically track all services and repairs. We hire dedicated and trained maintenance technicians to provide reliable and safe buses for the service of our customers. We believe in continued training for our employees to stay up to date with new equipment, and we take pride in having clean and safe buses for those who ride with us. Our preventive maintenance is set up to meet or exceed all services recommended by the bus manufacturer. We do regular preventive maintenance inspections based on miles, days and hours of operation. We also believe that the drivers are an important part of our maintenance program, so we conduct daily inspections before and after each trip.

School Bus Safety Tips

1Leave plenty of time to get to the bus stop. When you rush, you may not follow traffic safety rules.
2Where available, walk on the sidewalks.
3Remain alert at all times. Don’t listen to an MP3 player, text, talk on your cell phone or play handheld video games because you won’t be aware of what’s happening around you.
4Be careful when you’re wearing your jacket, coat or hoodie with the hood up–it makes it difficult for you to see.
5When waiting for the bus, stay away from the street, and don’t play around. Always be conscious of the traffic around you.
6Make sure the driver can see you at all times by staying ten giant steps away from the outside of the bus.
7Wait for the bus to stop completely before you approach it to get on or before you stand up to get off.
8Clothes or backpacks should not have drawstrings, toggles or key chains. They can get caught on bus handrails and doors.
9Hold the handrail so you don’t trip on the stairs.
10 Find a seat and sit down immediately.
11Know your driver’s name and bus number to be sure you are boarding the right bus.
12 Be courteous and respectful to your driver.
13Talk and laugh quietly with friends, but do not scream because it is distracting to your driver.
14 Do not put your head, arms, papers or anything out the window.
15If you drop something near the bus, don’t pick it up. The driver may not see you. Instead, ask the driver for help.
16 If you have to cross the street, wait until the driver lets you know it’s OK.
17Stay away from the bus wheels at all times – especially the back wheels where it’s hard for the driver to see you.

KINDERGARTEN BUS ORIENTATION

Back to school is such a fun time for kids. Riding the bus for the first time can be exciting and fun, but also create feelings of anxiety for both students and parents. Our team offers help to students on how to ride safely by performing kindergarten orientation and safety presentations at schools. If your school is interested in our Bus Orientation Services, please call or click below to speak to someone about implementation.
